We arrived on a red eye flight from the US at around 5 am local time. After immigration and getting rental car, we arrived in Bamboo Bali at about 7am. We were greeted by Ano, one of the proprietors warmly. He helped us with our luggage and as we walked pass the rectangular iron gate, we were instantly transported to the lush, tropical and peaceful setting. Our cottage was very comfortable, beautiful and clean. Ano gave us an orientation of the properties and soon we realized that the whole place is truly a labor of love. Everything was done with a lot of thoughtfulness and personal touch. There was a postcard of Bonaire for us next to a box of chocolate. Some spices, tea, sugar, coffee and a cold pitcher of drinking water waiting in the kitchen. There was a drift wood welcome sign above our cottage door with our names (which later was given to us as a souvenir). They also provide a nice area for cleaning and hanging our diving equipment. Even though there were 5 bungalows and all except one was occupied, we felt the whole place was private and quiet. We made a good use of the common grill after Ano pointed us to the local fisherman house where we could get daily fresh catch from the ocean. In the early evening, people started to trickle in the grill area. So while grilling, we met others and exchanged diving tips and sightseeing experiences. The grilling area provides a nice little community gathering. We like to take a walk after dinner and Ano pointed us to a neighborhood across the street that has a small public walk way along the coastline. That's when we discovered other properties, hotels and condos set on the seaside. Although the seaside view might be nice, there are just concrete and more concrete all around. I'd much rather be in Bamboo Bali where everything is made of natural materials. One week felt too short and we'll definitely come back again. We checked out their latest addition, the 6th cottage: "Between the tree" and planned to make a special request for that cottage on our next visit. Thank you Ano, Vera and Sebastian for making our holiday so enjoyable and comfortable.

We had the pleasure of staying in the wonderful cabin `between the trees`. The cabin build had just been finished with great attention to detail. The inside was modern-romantic with nice and romantic decorations. Outside the view can only get better when the other cabins will be ready. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. On the terrain there are a number of seating area's, lounge area, a small pool and a comfortable Jacuzzi. A really nice touch was the hand painted sign with our first names welcoming you to the cabin. The site is just a short driving distance to Kralendijk. We can recommend Bamboo Bali for your stay in Bonaire!
